BOOB ACCESSORY SOLUTIONS FROM THE START....

Boobas founder and director, Michelle Silipo, met her friend Vanessa Joseph (pictured) in 2001 when she was completing her Certificate 3 in Massage Therapies at Gold Coast TAFE. Vanessa was studying Reflexology and the pair partnered up to practice their skills on each other’s feet. It was friends at first touch, and Vanessa and Michelle's friendship blossomed and evolved with their lives. Marriage, children, and countless family milestones have been celebrated and shared between the two families along the way. 

Twenty years after their first meeting on the 8th of January 2021, Vanessa sent Michelle a message... 

A biopsy from a lump found in Vanessa’s left breast was positive for breast cancer! The cancer had also spread to the lymph nodes under that arm. Vanessa's friends rallied to support her throughout her diagnosis, and subsequent journey from treatment to remission, helping the brave mother of two with child minding, lifts to and from appointments, and helping to keep her spirits elevated. 

On the 2nd of February Vanessa shared her good news... The cancer hadn’t spread beyond the left breast and lymph nodes, meaning it had been found early enough and was curable! 

Currently Vanessa is halfway through her approximately two-year treatment plan. She has already endured 4 months of Chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy and lymph node removal. She has completed radiation treatments to make sure the cancer is gone for good and then she will start on 6 months of oral chemotherapy followed by breast reconstruction surgery. 

Inspired to help all breast cancer patients including her friend Vanessa, Michelle has partnered with the McGrath Foundation so proceeds from every BOOB Bra Strap Converter Clip sold goes towards this worthy cause. 

Vanessa’s friends were the first to learn about the invention of the BOOB Bra Strap Converter Clip in January. At that early stage the clip was just a 3D printed plastic prototype. 

Now it is a durable stainless-steel, powder coated design and comes in a stylish range of colours;

white, nude, pink, gold and black.

Boob Accessory Solutions are donating 50c from every 2pk of the BOOB Bra Strap Converter Clips sold to The McGrath Foundation to fund the work of the incredible McGrath Breast Care Nurses who support individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer.  Fundraising commenced 01/08/21.

Boob Accessory Solutions is aiming to fund a new McGrath Breast Care Nurse for the Gold Coast region by the end of 2022.
