The milestone event was held at The Imperial, with a “Night at the Palace” theme of gowns and crowns, celebrating a decade of recognising women whose contributions often go unseen but have profound impact in their communities.
Michelle was recognised in the Unsung Hero category for using her boob-themed accessories as a catalyst for conversation at her Boob Accessory Solutions market stalls, movie premiere nights and festivals to help women strip away stigma and find the vital services and supportive networks they need. Michelle has partnered with many breast cancer support charities and foundations through fundraising partnerships to give back and ensure women in the community know where to look when they need help.
“Being recognised as part of an International Women’s Day event, has meant so much to me because it means the community sees the work I’m doing inventing and creating bra clip and boob themed accessories and visibly showing women they’re not alone if they are suddenly faced with a breast cancer diagnosis.” Says Michelle
Heart of Women Awards Founder Theresa Mitchell who is also the Founder of Agape Outreach, said the awards were created to recognise the ripple effect of compassion that women bring into the world.
